As the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth quickly approaches, PlayStation’s servers have revealed some important information about the title… and that’s fair to say. Make room between now and February 29!
Voted the most anticipated game of 2024 at the Game Awards ceremony, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of the major releases at the start of the year. Four years after Final Fantasy VII Remake, this second part of the FF7 remake project promises to be particularly ambitious thanks to its open world that is richer and fuller than ever. If the content promises to be gargantuan, we are willing to believe it given the size of the game which was revealed on the PlayStation servers.

FF7 Rebirth, an adventure as massive as its weight?
On X (formerly Twitter), @PlaystationSize is an account that lives up to its name very well. The account posts information regarding the size of games, often even before their release. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is no exception to the rule and a month before its release, the title seems to have been uploaded to PlayStation servers. So, this is how we learn that the title would weigh 145 GB at launch! A massive weight, especially when compared to other games from the start of the year. On PS5, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown weighs 21,495 GB, 25,532 GB for Persona 3 Reload, 45,207 GB for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League or even PS5: 53,891 GB for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Beyond this comparison, funnier than anything else, we also learn that a demo for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth should be available following the broadcast of the State of Play dedicated to the game on February 6. Once completed, players will be able to collect the Kupo Charm – Survival Set which will be useful to them if they purchase the complete game immediately. And if this is the case, we invite them to make room on the PS5 SSD in order to properly accommodate the game on February 29.
