Even if the Nintendo Switch still makes a lot of people happy and recently proved to us that she still has it in her stomach (notably thanks to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom), many players have noticed that releases on the Nintendo console are becoming increasingly rare. Some therefore claim that the Nintendo Switch is entering the end of its life and that an announcement for its replacement is imminent.. Moreover, most supporters of this theory agree that Nintendo would reveal its new console this year, for a release at the end of the year or at the beginning of 2025. If all these theories must of course be taken with a grain of salt while awaiting official communication from Nintendo, it must be admitted that they are rather plausible.
A few days ago, however, a Brazilian journalist mentioned a slightly more precise date for the announcement of the potential Nintendo Switch 2. According to him, the announcement will take place in June 2024. Although it is obviously still necessary to put some conditional and distance with this information, it must also be remembered that Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe is not his first leak which Nintendo ended up confirming. In addition, the information was also relayed by Mike Straw For InsiderGaming in an article where he confirms that he himself heard the same information from his own source. Again, the website Insider Gaming tends to only talk about the most solid rumors, further reinforcing the credibility of this date. Obviously, we cannot confirm anything yet without official communication from Nintendo, so only the future will be able to tell us more.
Nintendo leads the way all year long
Even if everything seems to indicate that the next Nintendo console could well be announced this year, the Japanese firm continues to supply the Switch with new games. Recently, for example, we were able to discover the announcement of Pokémon Legends: ZA, Endless Ocean Luminous And Epic Mickey Rebrushed to recite nobody else but them. Of course, some games announced some time ago have yet to arrive like Princess Peach: Showtime! or the remake of Paper Mario: The Millennium Door. While it is certain that these games will arrive on the current Nintendo Switch, others could also be announced in the meantime.
At least that’s what I think the same Brazilian journalist which, in addition to revealing an announcement date for Nintendo’s next console, also predicts two new conferences from the brand between now and then. According to him, an Indie World could take place this month before moving on to a Nintendo Direct in April, which would therefore be the last before the announcement of the new console. Here again, even if the journalist in question has a good history of reliability, it will be necessary to keep some distance from this information which has not been confirmed by Nintendo. So be patient, this year could well be under the sign of Nintendo.
