Palworld has been in the news for a while now, but it is clear that we can only be surprised by the massive and international success of its launch a few days ago: the figures are simply dizzying .

Creatures, weapons and lots of money

The first time we heard about Palworld was in 2021 with a trailer that had already caused a sensation: the title immediately earned its nickname “Pokémon with weapons”, effectively offering to travel through an entire world populated by fictional creatures with distinct characteristics (111 types of Pals are to be declared, to be exact). But here, not only It is possible to capture them and add to your “collection”, but you also sometimes have to confront them purely and simply with a shotgun and other fragmentation grenades.

In fact, Palworld goes even a little further than that by relying on big survival mechanics : we must kill certain Pals to recover their resources, but also draw on the environment to tackle crafting and building proper bases.

Finally, the other aspect that attracts attention is definitely its multiplayer aspect, with the possibility of playing in a public server with 32 players on a map or in a private server, for four-player cooperation. And if ever a few small connection problems arise, it’s not for nothing: Palworld is an absolutely massive success that the developers had perhaps not fully anticipated.

Impressive scores

Palworld was released on PC and Xbox on January 19 in early access and yes, it’s already a hit. So to speak, on the single day of its launch, it exceeded 2 million sales and reached 200,000 players simultaneously on Steam: Just today, Monday January 22, 1,501,100 people were playing the software at the same time on the Valve platform.

With more than a million and a half simultaneous players, Palword has just beaten the score of an acclaimed game like Baldur’s Gate III, which had gathered 875,343 players at the same time. In fact, to put it briefly, it is quite simply the third highest score in Steam history, just behind Counter-Strike 2 (1.818 million) and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (3.257 million). And again, these figures do not include players on the Epic Games Store or Xbox.

Another impressive data: that of sales scores with five million units in just three days! The success story is real even though the game has not even been released in its final version yet and many additions have yet to arrive, such as cross-play or PvP. In the meantime, it is very likely that all these numbers will continue to swell…
