Hoyoverse announces all the characters in the next update, while the company is drowning in criticism and complaints.
While players’ remonstrations are becoming more and more present towards the successful open world, Genshin Impact, Hoyoverse has decided to completely ignore it. Instead of responding to player criticism, the company revealed new information about the upcoming update. These Updates are generally divided into two parts, each lasting around twenty days and highlighting 4 characters. Usually, Hoyoverse reveals the units of the first part of the update shortly before it begins, and announces those of the second part later. But against all expectations, all the characters were revealed a few days ago, while 4.4 only starts on Wednesday morning.
A case that makes noise
As a reminder, Hoyoverse is the company behind the two most profitable gachas of recent years, Genshin Impact and the T-RPG Honkai Star Rail. Even though it has been more than 3 years since the first one was on the market, Honkai still hasn’t celebrated its first birthday. But while both games should ride on all their competitors hand in hand, the two communities are more separated than ever because of Hoyoverse’s strange move. Since the title’s release in 2020, players of Genshin expect many improvements, whether in terms of gameplay or content. Despite their numerous requests, Hoyoverse is not doing much to change this. However, since Honkai Star Rail was released, the game was treated to many additions that Genshin players envy.
And the last live of Honkai Star Rail was the last straw. For 2.0, twenty summons will be offered to tactical RPG players, while for the Chinese New Year, users of Genshin will receive 3 summons as “rewards for their loyalty”. Faced with this umpteenth injustice, Open World players, particularly Chinese players, decided to take an offensive against the company (which very rarely happens). The company lost several million followers on local networks and its rating. Genshin Impact keeps falling on the different stores. But obviously, Hoyoverse doesn’t care about the players’ opinions and has obviously decided to snub them, and to disclose new information.
An announcement that does not please anyone
You should know that each Genshin Impact update is divided into two parts, each highlighting two 5-star characters (very rare) and 3 4-star characters. But contrary to their usual practice, Hoyoverse leaked information about the second part of Update, even before it had started. We will be treated to Xiao and Yae Miko as 5-star characters, accompanied by Ningguang, Xinyan and Yaoyao. This announcement clearly does not please anyone, the 4-star units present being among the least appreciated and least useful in the game. 4.4 is coming in two days, and Hoyoverse still hasn’t shown any changes to player rewards.
