Taking the time to do things is good. This is what we saw with the official release of Baldur’s Gate III in August 2023 after almost 3 years in early access on Steam. This long period of early access allowed Larian Studios to refine the game based on fan feedback, to ultimately offer a gem with endearing characters, a neat story, and gameplay so diverse that no two saves are the same. A major problem
Not long ago, Larian Studios announced that the first wave of pre-orders for the Deluxe PC edition of the game has begun distribution. In case you didn’t know, this edition contains a physical version of the game with digital bonuses (OST, artbook, character sheets) and physical (poster, stickers, card, badges, OST), and it is in no way a limited edition, so you can get it later. Unfortunately, it is in this same press release that Larian apologized to fans, clarifying that physical editions for PS5 And Xbox Series had fallen behind schedule, for a significant reason.

Indeed, it seems that the physical versions of GOTY 2023 are (literally) going heavy, since the delay in the console editions is due to the size of the game, which requires not 3 discs, but 4 discs to be installed. on Xbox Series. We were already surprised to see games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in 2 discs on PS5, but 4 discs is a real record for a ninth generation console! Even if the version PS5 is not affected by this small production problem since it will only contain 2 discs, Larian made the decision to send both editions at the same time by the end of April. That way, nobody is jealous !
