In “Game of Thrones” Season 8, Daenerys Targaryen made a change that came as a surprise to many. But Daenerys’ madness has become apparent over the seasons. We have collected the clues for you on your way to becoming the crazy queen.
After the 5th episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 8, many fans were angry. Why did David Benioff and DB Weiss completely disregard Daenerys’ character development and let the Mother of Dragons kill countless innocents in a bloodlust?! Why does the person who always wanted to free the people from tyrants become a tyrant herself?!
In fact, Daenerys’ madness and brutality have been repeatedly hinted at or shown explicitly in recent seasons. That’s not entirely satisfactory compensation for the bumpy and rushed implementation in episode 5, but Benioff and Weiss’ intention was definitely believable in the GoT universe. A character who moves in the shades of gray between good and evil goes crazy and makes a fatal mistake.
