Game of Thrones: Is Jon Snow immortal? Theory could completely change the spin-off

• The story of “Game of Thrones” continues in the upcoming Jon Snow spin-off.
• The story of the sequel series is still secret and presumably takes Jon north.
• However, a fan theory now suggests that Jon is immortal and the series can therefore continue into the future.

“Game of Thrones” ended after 8 seasons, but HBO is planning a sequel in the form of a spin-off about Jon Snow. Unlike the other GoT series projects that are currently in the works, only the Jon Snow series is a sequel, all other series play before the events of “Game of Thrones”.

Nothing is known about the plot of the series, which currently has the working title “Snow”. It is assumed that we are following Jon and the wildlings north since they headed there in the “Game of Thrones” finale. However, a fan theory throws a possible time jump into the room.

For example, some fans on Reddit assume that Jon, who died in the Season 5 finale and was resurrected by Melisandre in Season 6, is now immortal. However, this theory is based only on the fact that Jon Snow did not subsequently die again, despite being in numerous dangerous situations and that magic played a role in his revival.

Should Jon Snow be immortal, “Snow” could jump several decades or even centuries into the future and show us a Westeros we’ve never seen before. An interesting idea, but the immortality theory can be quickly invalidated.

For example, Beric Dondarrion was revived six times by Thoros von Myr in “Game of Thrones” before Beric finally died in the Battle of Winterfell. So the multiple revives didn’t affect Beric’s mortality.

So Jon could die and be resurrected multiple times, which would make him immortal in a way, but that’s unlikely to happen in Snow. Accordingly, the fact that Jon and the wildlings in the series find out what the north has to offer for them seems to remain the case.
