  • Streaming provider HBO is currently working on a new series about Jon Snow.
  • John Bradley may envision returning as Samwell Tarly for the spin-off.
  • A prequel series called “House of the Dragon” will be released this year.

US broadcaster HBO is planning a “Game of Thrones” spin-off about Jon Snow (Jon Snow in the German version). Actor John Bradley is considering reprising his role as Samwell Tarly for the spin-off. However, an official return of his character is still known. In an interview with a US magazine Digital Spy, Bradley talks about a possible comeback.

I think we all had enjoyed a little break… . But in the future, who knows? I haven’t spoken to anyone about a possible Jon Snow spin-off, but if someone wants to send me a script I’d love to read it.

For eight years, the actor played Sam, Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) best friend. Now that he’s tried his hand at various roles, he can well imagine returning to Westeros. He is interested in how his old companion Sam fared after the season finale.

Not much is known about the spin-off series so far, except that series star Kit Harington will reprise the role of Jon Snow. In the “Game of Thrones” finale, Jon Snow moved north with wildlings. Since the sequel is supposed to follow directly from the series finale, we’ll probably accompany Jon on his arduous journey. “Snow” is currently in an early development phase. Little is known about the further plot.

In the season 8 finale, Samwell Tarley became a member of the small council as Grand Maester. With Jon banished from Westeros, a clash between the friends could create tension.

In addition to John Bradley, other actors from the GoT cast have also spoken out. Emilia Clark, the actress behind Daenerys Targaryen, has previously ruled out returning to the series in an interview with the BBC. Actress Gwendoline Christie, on the other hand, can very well imagine reprising her role as Brienne of Tarth.

The start date of the new “Game of Thrones” series is still unknown. For this reason, the further cast remains to be seen. A first prequel series from the GoT universe awaits us on August 21, 2022: “House of the Dragon”. Set 200 years before the finale of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of House Targaryen.
