The production of “House of the Dragon” has recently started. Now there are the first pictures of the actors in costume.

Work on “House of the Dragon” has recently picked up speed. Now there are three first pictures showing five members of the main cast of the “Game of Thrones” spin-off, in costume. The promo footage was posted on the series’ official Twitter account.

The first photo shows Emma D’Arcy (28, “Truth Seekers”) and Matt Smith (38, “The Crown”) as Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen. On the second picture Steve Toussaint (56, “Red, White and Blue”) can be seen as “The Sea Snake”. The third shot shows Rhys Ifans (53, “Notting Hill”) and Olivia Cooke (27, “Bates Motel”) as Otto and Alicent Hohenturm.

What is it about and when the series is coming

The prequel “House of the Dragon” takes place 300 years before the events of the original series. It tells the story of Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke, 34) ancestors – one of the key characters from “Game of Thrones”. It still takes some time before the first season of the series can be seen.

The US broadcaster HBO has announced “House of the Dragon” for 2022. Only recently, the official Twitter account had confirmed that production had started – and published pictures of some actors reading the scripts. In addition to the actors already mentioned, Paddy Considine (47, “Hot Fuzz”), who plays King Viserys Targaryen, could also be seen here.
