We announced it for several months already, it is now official: the historic agreement between the Warner Discovery group (owner of HBO) and the OCS channel expired on January 1, 2023. As a result, many series have left the platform of streaming, including Game Of Thrones, The Sopranos, watch men or True Detective. We take stock.
61 cult series on the way
Since 2008, OCS has been the streaming channel and platform for viewing HBO series in France. But that time is over, and no less than 61 series – most of them iconic – left the service at the first light of the new year. Here is the full updated list:

Theoretically, all HBO seasons and series that are over two years old have disappeared from OCS. This therefore does not directly concern the recent series The White Lotus, House of the Dragon and Lovecraft Countrybut other programs should follow the same path in the coming months.
As a reminder, the end of the agreement between Warner Discovery and OCS was planned as part of the launch of the HBO Max streaming service in France during 2023. This having been postponed to 2024, French viewers find themselves (for the instant) orphans of these programs.
It is now a question of knowing where the French can find in streaming all these series and the future HBO productions, like The Last of Us scheduled for January 15. And right now… we don’t know. As suggested by several agreements signed between Warner Discovery and Amazon in recent months, the programs could appear on the Amazon Prime Video platform. The Canal+ group has also shown interest, but nothing has been officially announced. Finally, remember that all these programs are still available on VOD and Blu-ray/DVD.
Either way, the streaming service that picks up these programs will have gold in their hands for the next 18 months. We should have information on this within the week, and Digital will of course keep you informed.
