gamescom 2022: Microsoft unveils a non-conference program

Unlike PlayStation and Nintendo who politely declined the invitation (like many major publishers, let’s say it), Microsoft will be on the trip even if we now know that we should not wait for a dedicated showcase in the wake of that of last June. According to the program unveiled on Xbox Wire, Microsoft will essentially come back to the games already announced, focusing on those that will be released in the next 12 months, which was already its instruction for the major conference last June.

On site, the Xbox space in Hall 8 will house 36 game stations including Pentiment, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Last Case of Benedict Fox, Lies of P and Planet of Lana which will not be released until 2023. No Forza Motorsport, Starfield or even Redfall in sight when it comes to playable titles, then. On the other hand, Microsoft will bring back previously released and recently updated titles like Age of Empires IV, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Sea of Thieves and Grounded.

No showcase for Internet users, as we said, but a broadcast day will however take place on Thursday August 25 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., in order to give developers a space for expression and to show gameplay for future titles like A Plague Tale: Requiem, Lies of P, High On Life, Planet of Lana, Minecraft Legends and Pentiment. The broadcast will be in English, but French subtitles will be available as long as you connect to the French Xbox channels, of course.

As a reminder, the main meeting of this gamescom 2022 will once again be the opening ceremony. Opening Night Live which will be presented by Geoff Keighley on August 23 at 8 p.m.
