A 69-year-old motorcyclist mowed down a group of cyclists on Tuesday at the end of the day on a secondary road in Salindres, near Alès, in the Gard, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré.
The motorbike overtook a car and while falling back hit the cyclists
It was during an overtaking maneuver that the accident occurred: the motorcycle overtook a car but falling back violently hit the ten cyclists in the peloton who were turning on its left.
Two cyclists were hit.
The first cyclist, in cardiac arrest when help arrived, died. The second was seriously injured in the arm and was taken to hospital.
The biker, meanwhile, unconscious, was airlifted to the Nîmes hospital center.
