Use coffee grounds as fertilizer

In order for your plants to thrive in the garden, you do not need to buy expensive fertilizer.

  • If you like drinking coffee, you should not throw away the coffee grounds. Coffee grounds are rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
  • Especially in the garden, fertilizing with coffee grounds has another advantage. Since earthworms are attracted by coffee grounds, the plants are also happy about a loosened soil.
  • You can use the coffee grounds from the filter bag as well as from coffee pads for fertilization.
  • It is important that you let the coffee grounds cool down before using them as fertilizer. The easiest way to use coffee grounds in the garden is to add them to the watering can.
  • Collect coffee grounds for fertilization. Let it dry so it doesn’t get moldy. This works best if you spread it out on a large plate.
  • Don’t be afraid to overfeed the plants with coffee grounds. This is not possible. However, it is sufficient if you provide your garden plants with some coffee grounds every three months.
