Gas prices, CPF, MaPrimeRnov’, taxes… Everything that changes in May 2024

Relaxed conditions to obtain MaPrimeRnov’, increase in the benchmark price of gas, flat-rate participation in health matters… We take stock of the developments which concern your finances from May 1, 2024.

The price of gas is rising again

Bad news on the gas side, since the price of gas will start to rise again in May. After a series of reductions in recent months, this benchmark price, established by the energy regulation commission (CRE) to serve as an indicator since the end of the regulated tariff, will see an increase of 1.4% including tax.

This increase is explained by a slight increase in wholesale market prices of natural gas, which had been falling since the end of 2023, CRE explained. Many suppliers, particularly those who index their prices to this benchmark price, should pass on the increase in invoices. Subscription prices, for their part, remain stable.

100 euros participation to use your personal training account

You will soon have to pay a flat rate contribution of 100 euros to pay for training using your personal training account (CPF). Two exceptions: job seekers and employees for whom the employer participates in the payment of training, who will be exempt.

The measure, which aims to enable budgetary savings, should come into force from May 1 according to the draft text submitted to the social partners, but a decree is still awaited. This fixed amount could be revalued each year according to inflation.

After the deductibles, the fixed contribution revised upwards

Concerning health spending, after the doubling of medical deductibles which came into force at the end of March, it is the turn of the flat-rate contribution to see an increase. This sum, which is automatically deducted from reimbursements, will increase to 2 euros for each medical consultation, biological analysis, or radiology examination. If the development had first been announced for June, it should finally come into force from May 15, according to The Parisian. An implementing decree is awaited.

Medicines, physiotherapy, ambulance… Why your health spending risks soaring in 2024

Fixed-rate contributions paid per year and per person cannot exceed the limit of 50 euros. A ceiling is also set at 4 euros per day per doctor. Minors, women who benefit from maternity insurance, and beneficiaries of supplementary solidarity health insurance are not subject to it.
