These three new ships, capable of carrying 7,900 containers each, will be equipped with an LNG tank, used as fuel, with a capacity of 6,000 m3 each. These tanks will incorporate the membrane containment system Mark III Flexdeveloped by GTT. The delivery of these three vessels will be spread over the first half of 2024.
LNG is today the best marine fuel for preserving air quality, a major public health issue.It reduces 99% shows oxidesofsulfur, 91% the fine particles, and 92% shows nitrogen oxides. It also reduces CO emissions by up to 20%.2 compared to a conventional ship.
