Geforce RTX 3050: Available here shortly for RRP

On January 27th, Nvidia will release the RTX 3050 for Full HD gamers – here you can buy the Ampere GPU at an RRP.

Where can you buy the RTX 3050 at MSRP?

Nvidia sent us a few links in advance, under which the RTX 3050 (to the test report) should be available at the market launch at an RRP of 279 euros:

Notice:

As expected, the rush was huge, the cards mentioned are all listed as “no longer available”.

For this reason, links to online shops that have the RTX 3050 listed (without guarantee of availability) follow:

Nvidia officially presented the RTX 3050 at the CES in early 2022 (read the article) . In contrast to the RX 6500 XT (to the test report), the Ampere graphics card offers 8 GB of video memory and, on top of that, there is raytracing and DLSS for the first time with an entry-level GPU from Nvidia. All at an official price of 279 euros. Our test (read the article) shows that the RTX 3050 is a good GPU that can run most games smoothly in 1080p with the highest graphics details. Thanks to Deep Learning Super Sampling, you get smooth game rates even with activated ray tracing. We have listed all the shops for you where the RTX 3050 should be available at the market launch at the RRP.

When should the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 be released?

The RTX 3050 is scheduled to be released eight days after the release of the RX 6500 XT, i.e. on January 27th. However, Nvidia has not given a specific time. The reason behind this may be that scalpers with bots will find it more difficult to buy up the existing contingent immediately. However, if you look at the release of the last Ampere graphics cards and consider that our test (to the article) was allowed to go online at 3 p.m., 3 p.m. is not an unlikely time for the start of sales.

How much should the RTX 3050 cost?

Nvidia gives the RTX 3050 RRP of 279 euros. At least a certain contingent of cards should be available at this price at the market launch. However, experience has taught us that the number is likely to be very manageable and that the dealers are driving the prices up with each additional delivery – the strong demand makes it possible. Another big problem is that Nvidia itself does not offer a Founders Edition, so the RRP is nothing more than a recommended price for the board partners. However, they usually offer the card in different versions – with larger coolers, better voltage supply, overclocked ex works – and have it paid for with an extra charge.

How fast is the RTX 3050?

Our test (to the article) showed that the RTX 3050 is ideal if you want to gamble with high to highest settings in Full HD. Thanks to Deep Learning Super Sampling, this even works with activated ray tracing. Compared to the RX 6500 XT (to the test report), the RTX 3050 can score with twice the video memory. In memory-hungry games, this can have such a strong impact that we were able to measure a doubling of the FPS numbers with the RTX 3050. The rasterization performance of the RTX 3050 is comparable to a GTX 1660 Super or GTX 1660 Ti and was a good twelve percent below an RTX 2060. Compared to the RTX 3060 (to the test report) you have to expect around 35 percent less performance and AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 (to the test report) is about 30 percent faster.
