GeForce graphics cards should undergo a redesign which does not seem to have much impact on their consumption.
The days pass and the rumors surrounding the GeForce RTX 40 series range called “SUPER” become more numerous and after the number of expected CUDA cores, there is talk of the TDP of these cards.
Of course, it is useless to remind you that NVIDIA has not yet confirmed anything – nor denied, however – about this new range, the official announcement of which may not arrive until the beginning of next year.
Stable TDP on the 4080 and 4070 Ti SUPER
Once again, the latest rumors concerning the GeForce come to us from Kopite7kimi who tweets additional information about the three RTX 4000 SUPER models which he already spoke about recently.
Beyond the GPU used or the number of CUDA cores available, this time it is a question of the electrical power necessary for these three new graphics cards. A power which does not seem to vary significantly compared to the “non-SUPER” models.
So, whether it is the RTX 4080 SUPER or the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Kopite7kimi puts forward a TDP of 320 and 285 watts, that is to say exactly what is put forward by NVIDIA on the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti.
The RTX 4070 SUPER at 220 watts
The case of the latest, the RTX 4070 SUPER, is a little different. Without there being any question of teasing the higher models, the TDP would be slightly higher than that of the RTX 4070 “simply”.
Indeed, while the latter displays a TDP of exactly 200 watts, Kopite7kimi specifies that it is 220 watts on the RTX 4070 SUPER. Please note that this increase is not a surprise: it is entirely consistent with the much greater increase in the number of CUDA cores on this card than on the others.
Remember that between the RTX 4070 and the RTX 4070 SUPER, we are talking about 22% more CUDA cores. It is only 10% between the RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and, even, only 5% between the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4080 SUPER. A precision which reassures us in the idea that the RTX 4070 SUPER will be the most interesting. Following the next number ?
