The former school in which Prince George and Princess Charlotte were educated is now at the heart of a scandal.
At the end of the summer, Kate and William made the decision to move to Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire. A upheaval which has earned the couple’s children, George, Charlotte and Louis, to enter a new school. Last September, it was therefore at the Lambrook School, a private and mixed school located about fifteen minutes from their home, that the young schoolchildren returned to school. Previously, the eldest were educated at the chic Thomas Battersea School, a private school in London at more than 20,000 euros a year. However, according to Hello Magazine, the posh establishment now finds itself at the heart of a scandal, since one of his teachers allegedly admitted to committing several sexual offenses against children. Indeed, Matthew Smith, teacher and assistant head of pastoral care at Thomas Battersea School, was arrested by members of the National Crime Agency at his home in East Dulwich on Sunday November 6th. According to information from Southwark News, the latter is accused of having “caused or instigated the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 13, of having distributed indecent images of children of category A (the most serious, editor’s note), and of three counts of categories ACThe 34-year-old pleaded guilty to all five counts on November 9 in Westminster Magistrates Court.
George and Charlotte, far from scandal
According to MailOnline, the charges do not relate to children attending Thomas Battersea School, where Matthew Smith had been teaching since September. As for George and Charlotte, they never even met the teacher, sincethey left the establishment a few months before his arrival. “I do not underestimate for a minute the shocking and deeply concerning nature of this news.
