Hollywood megastar George Clooney had to spend several days in the hospital because of a new role. That was the reason.

From December 23rd, George Clooney (59, "Ocean's Eleven") can be seen on Netflix in his new film "The Midnight Sky", which he also directed. But the Hollywood megastar has gone too far for his role. He had to go to the hospital for several days because he had caught a pancreatitis, as reported by the British tabloid "Daily Mirror".

Clooney is said to have lost almost 13 kilograms for the role. His diet at the time probably finally led to the inflammation. "I think I was trying to lose weight too quickly and I guess I wasn't taking good care of myself," says Clooney. It took him several weeks to feel completely healthy again, which is particularly difficult as a director, as you need a lot of energy for this job.

His wife wasn't a fan of his beard

George Clooney's wife Amal (42) was also not a fan of the fact that her husband stopped shaving because of the role. "I grew a big, ugly beard and my son loved it," says the actor. Alexander (born 2017) hid things in his beard that he only discovered at work, such as permanent lollipops. However, his wife and Alexander's twin sister Ella were "very happy" when Clooney was able to shave again.

"The Midnight Sky" tells a post-apocalyptic story in which Clooney plays a scientist in the Arctic. In addition to the actor, other stars such as Felicity Jones (37, "Inferno") and David Oyelowo (44, "Selma") can be seen. The film is based on the novel "Good Morning, Midnight" by Lily Brooks-Dalton.
