George Clooney
The Hollywood star reveals his most effective parenting trick
Even the children of a Hollywood star don’t always want to listen to their dad. But when George Clooney’s twins Ella and Alexander misbehave, he quickly picks up the phone. A trick that always helps.
George Clooney calls Santa Claus when his twins misbehave
Like most parents, George Clooney likes to tell white lies when it comes to raising children. The actor revealed this to People on the sidelines of the premiere of his latest film “The Boys in the Boat”. When Ella and Alexander don’t want to listen, Clooney uses Santa’s bag of tricks.
“It’s very helpful because when my kids misbehave, say in July, I get a call from Santa Claus,” George tells US magazine. He then elaborates: “And I say, ‘Hey Santa, how are you?’ And he answers: ‘Everything is going well. How are the children?’ And I say, ‘Well, I don’t know. Kids, how are you?’ They are like: [er macht seine Kinder mit einem weinenden Geräusch nach, Anmerkung der Redaktion].”
Clooney even cast a friend as Santa
This trick would always work to annoy his twins and get them to behave better for fear of a Christmas gift lull. Santa can’t think badly of them.
George Clooney professionalized his Santa Claus trick to such an extent that he even cast a “friend” as Santa. In an interview with People, he reports: “I actually have a friend who says ‘Santa Claus’ on my cell phone” when he calls him. A sophisticated Hollywood dad!
Stunned reaction to twin pregnancy: “That wasn’t part of the plan”
In October 2022, the “Up in the Air” actor revealed that he was stunned when the gynecologist told him that his wife Amal was expecting twins. “It was a disaster. […] That wasn’t part of the plan. I was 56 years old. “That just sounded terrible to me,” George said on “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

Clooney felt overwhelmed by the thought of having to be responsible for two small children. Because before his marriage to Amal, the actor was convinced that he didn’t want to bring any children into the world. There is hardly any sign of this uncertainty today.
