VSs I wrote in my last column, the lackluster midterm election results have reignited polemics within the Republican Party between mainstream conservatives and Trumpists. The former are convinced that the former president would be beaten again in 2024 and will therefore do everything to convince him to retire or, failing that, to eliminate him during the primaries of their party.
But, if on the right, everything revolves around Donald Trump, among the Democrats, there is a symmetrical problem called Joe Biden. Indeed, the anecdotes are multiplying on his absences and his blunders. And to apostrophize here an elected official when she died, to confuse Colombia and Cambodia, Ukraine and Iraq to the point that some question her cognitive abilities.
