A true living legend of French cinema, Gérard Depardieu saw his public image tarnished once again Tuesday April 11, 2023. That day, Mediapart published an investigation in which no less than 13 women accused the actor of sexual violence. The latter claim to have been subjected to inappropriate sexual gestures or remarks by Gérard Depardieu on the set of several films and series, which were broadcast between 2004 and 2022. Among the 13 women who denounce the actions of the actor, three of them testified in courtbut none of them filed a complaint.
For his part, Gérard Depardieu, through his lawyers “formally denies all the charges likely to fall under criminal law“. For now, he is still presumed innocent of the charges against him. Among the various testimonies reported by Mediapart, we can notably cite that of Lyla. Aged 24 at the time of the events she describes, she worked as an extra on the set of the film entitled big house in 2014. “Gerard Depardieu put his hand under my dress, I felt his fingers try to sneak in to reach my panties“, she indicated, before specifying that she had”pushed his hand away“, because she was uncomfortable.

“But he continued, he became aggressive, he tried to remove my panties and finger me: I understood that he was not playing his character. If I hadn’t stopped him, he would have succeeded“, she also claimed. A similar incident occurred during the filming of the series Marseilles, streaming on Netflix. Aged 20 at the time, the actress Sarah Brooks claims that Gérard Depardieu would have put his hand in his mini-shorts twice. “I take it away a second time and I say out loud: ‘There is Gégé who puts his hand in my shorts.’ He replied: ‘Well what, I thought you wanted to succeed in the cinema?’ Everyone laughed, so he continued. I was super bad, it was super humiliating“, she revealed.
