German Book Prize winner shaves her head on stage


Consecrated for her first novel Blutbook, non-binary author Kim of the Horizon made a point of expressing her support for the women protesting in Iran.

Swiss-born non-binary author Kim de l’Horizon shaved her head on stage after winning the prestigious German Book Prize on Monday, in a show of solidarity with women protesting in Iran. “This prize is not just for me“, declared the author during the presentation of the German Book Prize (Deutscher Buchpreis) in Frankfurt, ahead of the Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest in the world, scheduled for Wednesday to Sunday.
