German injured – skier (57) fell into a ditch in Tyrol

Serious skiing accident on Sunday afternoon in Tyrol! A German (57) fell off the piste and crashed into a ditch. Colleagues immediately raised the alarm. The man had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter.

At around 2 p.m., the 57-year-old skied from the Holzalmbahn mountain station in Hochfügen (Schwaz district) on the red-marked slope towards the valley station. “At an altitude of around 1,800 meters above sea level, he left the organized ski room and continued his journey in the free ski room,” the police say. Injuries to the shoulder The German got into rough terrain, fell, and slipped over a steep step into one water-bearing ditch and injured his shoulder. Colleagues of the victim made the emergency call. The 57-year-old was given initial care by the piste rescue team and then rescued using a rope by the “Heli 4” rescue helicopter team and taken to the hospital in Schwaz.
