Germany has made the decision in principle to buy F-35s from Lockheed-sces

BERLIN, March 14 (Reuters) – Germany has made a decision in principle to acquire F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin to replace its aging Tornado fleet, two government sources say.

A Defense source told Reuters in early February that Germany was leaning towards the F-35 but that the question had not been definitively settled.

The number of aircraft likely to be affected by this order is not known at this time.
