BERLIN, March 14 (Reuters) – Germany has made the decision in principle to acquire F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin to replace its aging Tornado fleet, two government sources have learned.
A Defense source told Reuters in early February that Germany was leaning towards the F-35 but that the question had not been definitively settled.
According to a government source, the order could reach up to 35 planes.
