Germany: sharp decline in trade surplus in December


(CercleFinance.com) – According to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar variations from Destatis, Germany generated a trade surplus of 6.8 billion euros in December 2021, compared to a surplus of 10.8 billion recorded on last month.

The Federal Statistics Office explains that this sharp deterioration from one month to the next results from an increase in German exports (+0.9%) insufficient to cover that of imports (+4.7%).
