“Germany’s Next Top Model” 2024: Heidi Klum meets the male models

The 19th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model” started this evening on ProSieben (also on Joyn). Model mom Heidi Klum, 50, is known to be welcoming male candidates to her popular casting show for the first time this year. It starts on Thursday evening with the final selection of models in Berlin. 10,000 aspirants are said to have turned up for the open casting, while 70 candidates had already been pre-selected by Klum – including the first male participant, flight attendant Niklas, whom Heidi quickly cast while doing his job above the clouds.

Grace and Felix make it through the open casting

Wearing a bright blue sequin outfit, the “Top Model” boss first takes a closer look at the candidates in the open casting – and immediately picks out the Syrian-born influencer Grace, 24, and 20-year-old Felix from Passau, the Klum each can inspire with their look and their energy. You can join the already pre-cast models in the backstage area, many of whom provide extensive information about their previous experience in the fashion business.

The identical twins Julian and Luka, 24, from Frankfurt particularly stand out here. The content creators not only look very similar, but also spend almost every free minute together and run a company together, as they report in a feature film.

Model mom Heidi ultimately wants to know from Luka and Julian who looks better in her own eyes. The brothers gallantly refer to each other, while Heidi Klum explains: “I’m very good at having twins.” After all, she is married to someone.

Candidate Aldin already has a lot of “top model” experience

Of course, not every participant can advance in the first “Germany’s Next Top Model” episode. For some candidates it’s over straight away. For example, 19-year-old Luxembourger Pia is studying “luxury,” which Heidi Klum clearly seems to be interested in. “Excuse me, where can you study that?” she asks, who has more practical experience in this subject. But despite the unusual career path, Pia unfortunately doesn’t make it to the next round.

Candidate Aldin, 22, who already has plenty of “top model” experience, comes further. The 22-year-old has not only been modeling successfully for many years, but in the past he took a respectable third place on “Switzerland’s Next Top Model”, the Swiss edition of the show. He is now all the more pleased that male models in Germany can also take part in the popular casting show.

The 33-year-old hair and make-up artist Pitzi, 33, who is already known from the dating show “Charming Boys”, also easily moves into the next round. He not only impresses model mom Klum with his look and personality, but also with sophisticated, barely recognizable hair extensions. Things continue for him, just like Grace and Felix mentioned at the beginning.

They will all continue to fight for the title of “Germany’s Next Top Model” 2024 in the following weeks, although this time there will be two winners of the season: one male and one female. Both can look forward to the prize money of 100,000 euros and end up on the cover of “Harper’s Bazaar”. By the way, the male winner of the “GNTM” season will make history, because no man has ever made it onto the cover of the fashion magazine. “Germany’s Next Top Model” runs every Thursday at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben.
