The models are surprised by their loved ones

The models have to master a shoot and a walk – while family, friends and Sofia Vergara look on.
The girls on “Germany’s next top model” (Thursdays, 8:15 p.m., ProSieben) are surprised by their loved ones in the 13th episode. But before that, there is still a photo shoot in a luxury penthouse in Los Angeles. Dressed by the star designers Saint Laurent, Vauthier, Costello and Dundas, the models pose with champagne bottles and diamonds. Meanwhile, her loved ones are in the background. When you look at the pictures, the surprise is of course great.
Nina (22) has trouble understanding the extrovert rich girl. Heidi Klum (49) and the photographer put pressure on them with slightly questionable sayings: “You look like you’re cleaning the house, not like it belongs to you.” This only increases your insecurity. When Nina tries to pose with another item – a blouse – the photographer sighs, “And now she’s selling clothes.” When she finally discovers her boyfriend, the stress is forgotten. The two hug each other deeply and quietly. For Heidi, however, that’s not enough euphoria.
Tears of joy and screams of alarm
The reactions to loved ones in the “GNTM” cosmos are extremely different. But Anna-Maria (24) gives Heidi exactly the reaction she wanted: she screams and jumps and cries as soon as she sees her fiancé – and can’t stop at first. “That’s how I imagined it,” says Klum with satisfaction.
Mirella (21) does not seem to dare to hug her mother. Selma (18) freaks out completely when she sees her dearest friend and screams: “Boy, I’m overwhelmed!” Somajia (21) reacted even more violently. She runs screaming and jumping towards her friend on the terrace, so that Heidi says: “Don’t fall off the house!” Meanwhile, Coco (21) looks at her mother like a ghost and immediately starts to cry. And Katherine (20) thanks Heidi between tears and hugs for her boyfriend, as if she had just brought him to life.
Family, partners and friends also watch the elimination walk. They all sit at tables between which the top model candidates have to maneuver in huge dresses with hoop skirts. Already during the test run in the backstage, rows of models stumble over their princess dresses. Katherine: “It’s so scary, you just walk into space!”
Heidi also comes to visit from a friend: Sofia Vergara (50), who is her guest judge and perhaps the funniest person on “GNTM” so far. For fun, the “Modern Family” star tries to walk through the audience in a crinoline, making all the guests and Heidi laugh: “Sofia, you can’t hold on to the column!” – “But I’m modeling!” Vergara replies while leaning against the pillar for stabilization.
“It’s not a kid’s birthday party!”
Baggy dresses, little space, the looks of family and friends, pressure from Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara… What could go wrong? Nina rushes through her walk as if she were in a hurry and looks “as if she would get stuck everywhere,” says Vergara. Olivia (22) strides through the crowd as if it were her party and greeting everyone. That was not in Heidi’s sense. “She forgets modeling,” is her verdict. Somajia floats down the catwalk, but forgets to mark it and exaggerates with all sorts of poses on the way back – including forming a heart with her fingers. “This is not a children’s birthday party,” complains Klum.
All three then have to worry about entering the top ten. “Each of you did your own thing,” criticizes Heidi. But doing too much is better than being too timid: Nina has to leave the show because she still lacks self-confidence. But at least not alone, she can start the way back with her very proud boyfriend.
