Not all women feel like “Wonder Woman” in these clothes

Star designer Jean Paul Gaultier is at “GNTM” for the first time. In return, some women throw certain principles overboard…

In the latest episode of “Germany’s next top model” the world is still in order: the models are just shocked that the casting week is already taking place. There is a short rehearsal coaching with Heidi Klum (48), who warns the candidates not to appear so controlled and stiff and like to tell them when they come from the village and can slaughter a pig (Anita, 20).

This completes the preparation and the girls are flown to Athens to get their first client jobs. The “model lifestyle” is all haywire. They change their clothes in the airport hall and, if necessary, their legs are also dry-shaved there.

For Best Ager Barbara, the concept is overturned

Sophie (18) impresses the designer of a Greek brand and gets her first job. In a casting for a colorful swimwear campaign, Juliana’s (24) appearance is the best – but also Best Agerin Barbara (68). “You blew us away!” praise the CEOs, overturning their campaign so they can book both models. The shy Amaja (18) gets the job at the magazine “Shape”: “I’m not the little one anymore, I’m part of it!” Finally, Lou-Anne (18) gets the last job for the “Faces” magazine, which surprises no one more than she.

For the girls who didn’t get a job, the rejections scratched their self-confidence. As with Paulina (32): I was really crushed. […] You get the feeling that you’re not enough.” But the next challenge is ready: And it consists of – at least not much to wear. Grannies, boyfriends, husbands and family members are warned not to watch the episode.

Extravagant lingerie – or “bridle”?

Heidi explains that the “bridle”, as some models call the corsets with collars, chains and suspenders, is extravagant lingerie that is now an integral part of the world’s catwalks. She looks forward to seeing confidence. Some girls see the outfits more as punishment – especially Anita: “You only walk around like that in the most private case and that’s not for me,” she says. “That’s a limit where I ask myself, am I doing this or is that too much for me?” Martina (50) agrees.

But then they didn’t know the guest judge of the episode either. Design legend Jean Paul Gaultier (69) is there for the first time, with which Martina also throws her concerns overboard: “I’ll definitely run in front of him, I won’t miss this honor.” For Anita it remains a disaster: “It’s just not my style, it’s not for the public. A man should see that in life – I won’t find him anymore.”

“Wonder Woman” on the catwalk

On the catwalk, however, things are very different: the outfits gave most of the women a whole new feeling of self-confidence. Heidi and Jean Paul can’t keep up with the praise. Gaultier even calls Martina “the real Wonder Woman”. Finally, Anita overcomes herself and receives astonished compliments for her elegance from Klum and Gaultier. When asked how she feels in the outfit, she only briefly explains: “The village will be happy.” Even if she doesn’t think she’ll get a man anymore, she gets a plane ticket to Los Angeles, where the next episode will be shot. “I can laugh again!” she is happy.

Laura W. (19) also had high demands on herself – but her heels were higher. The stairs took away her dynamic and the sad expression on her face has been making Heidi unhappy for a long time. It’s not enough for her. For this she gets a hug from Jean Paul Gaultier. And she’ll be spared the infamous makeover episode next week. That’s something.
