With its Premium X paid plan, the social network with the same letter now allows you to write (even) longer messages. Beyond the “posts” side, these are real articles, with various layout tools.

As you may know, the X.com (Twitter) platform can be used for free, but it also offers various subscription plans, allowing access to certain advantages. For several months now, the platform has offered three types of subscription, namely Basic, Premium and Premium+.

Towards (much) longer posts on X.com (Twitter)

It’s been some time since Twitter largely freed itself from its initial limit of 140 characters (now set at 280 characters). With a Premium subscription, you can write publications of up to 25,000 characters. Today, the network is unveiling a brand new feature: Articles.

Reserved for Premium+ subscribers (i.e. the most expensive formula), the Articles function allows you to write real articles (as its name suggests), using a relatively complete text editor. The latter allows you to create lists, write in italics/bold, but also integrate images and videos within articles. A layout worthy of a classic article.

As for the length of publications, this could reach 100,000 characters here, or around 15,000 words.

Real complete articles on Elon Musk’s network

Remember that Twitter had started working on longer messages well before Elon Musk bought the company. We are often talking about “Notes” in 2022, with the firm intention of attracting newsletter writers and other creators to the service.

In this way, creators are invited to offer all of their content directly on X.com, without having to redirect their subscribers to an external site or application. Recently, YouTuber Mr Beast posted his first native video, in full, on Elon Musk’s network.

Remember that Elon Musk also announced his desire to make…likes and retweets disappear. Thus, in the more or less near future, by default, on the user’s timeline, only the number of “views” accumulated on a post will be visible at first glance.
