The market for Graphic card
is about to meet a new generation whose demands promise to be staggering.

As the rumors follow the gossip, the thing seems to be confirmed: the top of the range of the next generation of NVIDIA graphics cards – but undoubtedly also AMD – will be very power hungry.

What about the cooling system?

Since the first information about the Ada Lovelace generation from NVIDIA, we know that the spearhead of this new range, the future GeForce RTX 4090, will be demanding. The indiscretions of a few well-informed observers further confirm this.

Thus, in turn, kopite7kimi and Greymon55 supported the idea that this RTX 4090 would indeed have a TGP of 600 Watts. To judge the inflation this represents, it is worth comparing this figure to the 250 W of the RTX 2080 Ti and the 350 W of the RTX 3090. Even the supposed RTX 3090 Ti would be “only” 450 W of TGP .

Greymon55 went further by putting forward the supposed TGPs of other Ada Lovelace cards: the RTX 4080 would already be at 450 W and a possible RTX 4090 Ti would be based on a TGP of 800 W. Staggering figures which should not make us forget that they don’t have anything official yet.

The fact remains that with such values, of course, there is the question of the energy efficiency of these cards, of the merits of such consumption and, finally, of the means of evacuating a heating which is undoubtedly very important. Without having an answer to give, kopite7kimi thus evokes a graphics card no longer occupying three, but four PCI Express slots.
