The open world in the universe of Tom Clancy’s Ghosts has just seen its latest updates. The follow-up of the game is stopped by Ubisoft, which is already thinking about the aftermath.

It’s moving a lot on the side of Ubisoft, which has announced dozens of projects in the pipes for a few weeks. For Ghost Recon Breakpoint is over anyway. The open world war game in the universe of Tom Clancy, very well followed since its release, will come to an end. The French studio has just announced the cessation of development of the game on Twitter.

Ubisoft obviously thanks the community for supporting the game during these three years of activity, but now wants to move on. A final update has therefore been deployed in recent months to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the license, with a new Operation Motherland game mode, cosmetics and NFTs, one of the firm’s new big projects.

Returning players will help shape the future of the franchise“, explains the studio in its press release, which will leave the Wildlands and Breakpoint servers online for those who will continue to play them solo or in co-op. For the future, we should probably hear soon about Ghost Recon Frontline, the new Battle Royale at Warzone.
