The “Ghostbusters” franchise will be growing next year: the first trailer for “Frozen Empire” has now been released.

2021’s Ghostbusters: Legacy will continue next year. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” with the stars Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, 54), Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”, 20) and Kumail Nanjiani (“Eternals”, 45) The first teaser trailer has now been released, which depicts a New York gripped by a supernatural cold snap. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” will be released in German cinemas on March 28, 2024.

After “Ghostbusters: Legacy” was the first part of the film series not set in New York but in Oklahoma, the sequel now goes back to the “Big Apple”. The Spengler family returns to the legendary New York fire station in the new film and teams up with the original Ghostbusters. An evil force then forces the old and new ghost hunters to save their home and the entire world.

In addition to those already mentioned, veteran stars Bill Murray, 73, Dan Aykroyd, 71, Ernie Hudson, 77, and Annie Potts, 71, also appear in front of the camera in “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”. They all appeared in the iconic original film “Ghostbusters” from 1984. In the director’s chair is Gil Kenan, 47, who is also responsible for the script together with “Legacy” director Jason Reitman, 46.
