Gilbert Collard is about to “bathe in the Rubicon” by joining Eric Zemmour

The RN MEP will join the presidential campaign of Eric Zemmour and will announce it during a meeting of the candidate this Saturday evening.

RN MEP Gilbert Collard will join the presidential campaign of Eric Zemmour and will announce it during a meeting of the candidate scheduled for Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) on Saturday evening, said the entourage of the far-right candidate on Friday to the press.

The elected member of the National Rally, close to the former FN deputy (now RN) Marion Maréchal, had hinted a few hours earlier on Facebook that he would join the campaign of Eric Zemmour. “Tomorrow I’m going to swim in the river (…) Rubicon”, he said on the social network.

Before him, two other RN officials joined the former columnist’s campaign: MEP Jérôme Rivière, who was among the spokespersons for Marine Le Pen’s campaign, and former identitarian Damien Rieu, who was the parliamentary assistant to Philippe Olivier, close adviser to the RN candidate.

Turbulence in Éric Zemmour’s campaign

Between judicial news, hectic travel and backlash in the polls, Éric Zemmour’s presidential campaign is going through a period of turbulence, which his camp is trying to put into perspective by highlighting the new rallies from the RN.

Eric Zemmour began a trip to the Alpes-Maritimes, Menton and Antibes on Friday, before a meeting on Saturday in Cannes, where he hopes to bring together 4,000 people. He was accompanied on Friday by Jérôme Rivière and Damien Rieu, who ensures that the RN “stagnates” and “regresses”, while “Zemmour is a rocket, with dynamics and rallies”.
