Girlfriend attacked – after attempted murder, man jumped in front of fire truck

Incomprehensible! With 30 to 40 stab wounds in the back, a 23-year-old tried to kill his girlfriend (21) on Tuesday night in Engerwitzdorf, Upper Austria. This managed to escape to the neighbors. The perpetrator then set the house on fire and then jumped in front of an arriving fire truck. He died at the scene of the accident.

A tragic incident occurred on the national holiday at around 1.30 a.m. in the local area of ​​Mittertreffling. According to this, a 23-year-old is suspected of having tried to kill his 21-year-old girlfriend with 30 to 40 knife stabs in the back. The woman was able to save herself by jumping from the first floor of the house onto the canopy and on to the neighbors. They provided first aid and notified the emergency services.

The 23-year-old then set fire to the house in several places and fled towards the B125. At that time, a 53-year-old was still sleeping on the first floor of the apartment building.

Died at the scene of the accident
At around 2 a.m., the man finally jumped onto the lane immediately in front of an approaching fire brigade vehicle. The driver of the fire truck could no longer prevent a collision and the man died at the scene of the accident. The alarmed fire brigades were able to rescue the sleeping woman from the burning house and put out the fire.

Both women were admitted to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz with injuries of an indeterminate degree. The investigations were taken over by the State Criminal Police Office and are currently still ongoing.
