Give Live A Chance: Will the concert be canceled after all?

On September 4th "Give Live A Chance" will be brought to the stage. A cancellation of the concert could still be the case.

The planned "Give Live A Chance" concert in Düsseldorf is slacking off. But the final decision as to whether the event will actually take place on September 4th in the Merkur Spiel-Arena is still pending. This emerges from a joint declaration by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs, the state capital Düsseldorf and the concert organizer Marek Lieberberg from "Live Nation", which was published on August 13th.

Accordingly, it is currently planned that the concert with artists like Sarah Connor (40, "How beautiful you are"), Rea Garvey (47) and Bryan Adams (60) can take place. The increasing number of infections in North Rhine-Westphalia could, however, prove fatal to the event at the last second. The final acceptance or rejection of "Give Live A Chance" can be expected no later than August 31st – only four days before the concert.

What happens to the tickets if they are canceled?

The declaration states that the advance sale of tickets will continue for the time being. Should the event be canceled, the entrance fee including the advance booking fee would be refunded to the visitors.

The Minister of Health of North Rhine-Westphalia, Karl-Josef Laumann (63), is critical. He evidently makes the question of the responsibility of such a major event an issue. "Compared with other state capitals, the state capital Düsseldorf ranks second in terms of infections with an incidence of 18.7," he explains. "As long as the incidence and infection rate are at a high level, a music event of this magnitude will not be able to take place." Up to 13,000 visitors are expected for the concert.
