29 days before the first round of the presidential election, Marine Le Pen went to Bouchain in northern France on Friday. On these largely acquired lands, the president of the National Rally called on her sympathizers to mobilize to make the polls lie.
With less than a month to go before the first round of the presidential election, National Rally candidate Marine Le Pen urged her voters not to abstain and to “stand up” despite the war in Ukraine and the “small music” of a re-election of candidate President Emmanuel Macron during his trip to Bouchain in the north of France on Friday.
“We wonder if we shouldn’t cancel the election”
With a smirk, Marine Le Pen plays on Emmanuel Macron’s advantage in the polls to galvanize his voters. “We hear this little music in the last days that it would be lost, that Emmanuel Macron will be re-elected. It’s borderline if we wonder if we shouldn’t cancel the election because you understand it’s war !” she exclaims.
“Emmanuel Macron, by definition, should be immediately and automatically re-elected, but what’s the point of all this?” she says to her supporters. A call to the start to make lie a scenario written in advance. “He is trying to demoralize you, he is trying to make you give up. He is trying to disconnect the people of France, I tell you, this time will be the right one!”, She proclaims.
A conviction widely shared by his electorate, here in the northern region. “We hope, that’s why we are here to support her, I believe in it,” explains one of her supporters. “I hope this time it’s the right one. The French are not always going to be afraid anyway”, comments another.
To convince voters, Marine Le Pen’s speech is now centered on purchasing power with a slogan: “Give the French their money back.”
