Given its success, social leasing could go beyond 25,000 electric cars in 2024

The offer of electric cars for rental with rents of €40 to €150 per month (excluding insurance and maintenance) from social leasing is very successful. No less than 91,000 people completed a form to express their interest, announced Christophe Béchu, the Minister of Ecological Transition, guest of Bonjour! La Matinale TF1 this Friday January 19.

To benefit from social leasing, the first car of which was delivered this Thursday, January 18, 2024, drivers who have expressed interest will have to demonstrate that they meet the eligibility criteria. The number of cars could be increased

However, the envelope initially planned was sized for 25,000 files in 2024. Remember that state subsidies amount to €13,000 per car, which makes it possible to offer offers that are significantly more affordable than long-term rentals. (LLD) traditional.

Given the planned budget, not all eligible interested parties will be able to take advantage of this offer. Christophe Béchu nevertheless confirms that he is working on an increase in this ceiling. “We are looking with the manufacturers to see if we can make 30, 35, 40,000 vehicles”explains the minister.

The electric cars available are models meeting the same eligibility criteria as for the ecological bonus. This week, the Nissan Leaf, the Renault Zoé and the Renault Kangoo E-Tech joined the offerings already on offer.
