Glamping with an unobstructed view of the mountains

It is early morning on Alp Nagens. You stretch and stretch and keep your head outside. In front of you is the Graubünden mountain landscape around Laax. And back to the Mahal Suite, turn around in bed again and look forward to a hearty breakfast.

They have always existed: better and less good tents, caravans and campsites. For decades, guide books and websites have been filled with information on the quality of campsites. At the beginning of the 21st century, however, a new trend emerged: glamping.

The overnight stay takes place in nature, it is romantic and nostalgic, the core of camping is preserved. Simply with more style, nobility and luxury.

Like on the Alp Nagens at 2000 meters above sea level. For the second time since 2019, a pop-up glamping village has emerged around Laax GR this summer. Until mid-September, 17 stylish and comfortable tent units as well as the aforementioned Mahal Suite beckon. Operation is ensured in cooperation with the local Weisse Arena Gruppe.

The guests are also pampered with culinary delights, which is part of the program. The hiking trails and scenic beauties of the region are close by. It is an event that has its finger on the pulse and combines deceleration with all the comforts.

With 24 campsites, the TCS is the largest provider in Switzerland. Most of these campsites have glamping corners where everything is a bit fancier. 30 different types of glamping accommodations are available on these facilities, a total of around 250 units are available to guests. For example safari tents – no, not in the savannah – at TCS Camping Sion. Or a romantic geopod at TCS Camping Scuol.

These offers are not only trendy because of the word glamping. In the Corona year 2020, the camping records tumbled in Switzerland. The number of places registered record visitor numbers, the new registrations of mobile homes increased by 26 percent compared to the previous year.

Camping turned out to be the right way to spend a holiday in harmony with nature, but still with enough “social distance”. The TCS has already recorded record bookings for the new summer as well. So if you want to enjoy the view from Alp Nagens, you should hurry up.
