“Glee probably should have stopped after Cory’s death” says Ryan Murphy


In a recent podcast, the writer and showrunner of the music series “Glee”, Ryan Murphy, expressed regret over the continuation of the series after the sudden death of Cory Monteith in 2013.

“If we had to do it again, we would have stopped a long time ago and we probably wouldn’t come back” he comments. The show’s creator says that if he were in a similar situation today, “I would say it’s the end”.

Died at 31, following a heroin overdose, Corey Monteith was to start filming season 5 of the musical series. Ryan Murphy and his writers then made the decision to “kill” his character, Finn, and the 3rd episode of season 5 was entirely devoted to him. The series ended after six seasons in 2015.
