Vivien Blotzki won the 18th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model”. Since then, things have become quieter around the curvy model – and there’s a reason for that, as she now reveals.

In the finale of the 18th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model” Vivien Blotzki, 23, prevailed against Selma May, Olivia Therese Hounkpati, Somajia Ali and Nicole Reitbauer and was named the first curvy model to win. Since then, she has had to accept severe setbacks on her way to becoming a successful model.

“GNTM” winner Vivien Blotzki settles accounts with the modeling industry on Instagram

Vivien Blotzki is now taking the offensive on Instagram and talking about the dark sides of her dream job on her account. In a carousel post, which initially shows her looking at the sea in bikini bottoms, she lets her thoughts run wild. She begins with the appeal that a lot still needs to change in the fashion industry. Even thin models have enormous pressure to maintain their measurements.

But unlike Curvy Models, there is a space reserved for the models mentioned. If you don’t fit in, be it visually or depending on your hip size, you will be replaced

, she reflects her own experiences. Dealing with so-called “curvy models” was frightening for her: “We are aware that the shows and semi-annual collections are aimed at trends, but that this is not just about the clothing [sic.] but also related to the inclusion of diversity, was new to me.”

“I am many things but not a trend”

What bothers her most is being constantly perceived as a trend. “Many of my steps are put into perspective and made small and are in no way attributed to my ability.” Even her win on “Germany’s Next Top Model” was denied and downplayed as a fad.

Her first public step to defend herself against this type of discrimination was her Instagram post. In an interview with “RTL” she even goes one step further and explains that she actually doesn’t like the terms “thin” and “curvy” models, but that she would still use them in the spirit of enlightenment. She herself wants to ensure more openness and reveals that she wears size 46, a challenge because many brands still do not carry larger sizes.
