God of War Ragnarok is one of the big releases of this end of the year and we knew that Sony was going to put the package in terms of marketing, but today we clearly did not expect that. so here’s an ad for the Santa Monica game with some big stars and their children.
“All parents can understand”
For the promotion of a video game (or other cultural products for that matter), we are sometimes entitled to advertisements a little out of the ordinary, which can often be put into two categories: funny and “uncomfortable”. This sequence for God of War Ragnarok rather positions itself in the first.
We are witnessing here a kind of support meeting for parents with Ben Stiller, LeBron James, John Travolta and their children. Like Kratos and Atreus in the game, this meeting highlights father-son/father-daughter relationships. According to them, wearing the Kratos costume in public can make you a good father in the eyes of people. Nothing to laugh about, but the tone is still quite funny.
If the many trailers and previews of the game (including ours) have not convinced you, we are not sure that this advertisement will succeed, but all means are good to talk about it, we imagine.
God of War Ragnarok will be released on November 9 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
