God of War Ragnarok: Good news for waiting fans

In recent years, it was not uncommon for game releases to be pushed back. Some fans are nervous about this and wondering if the same could happen with God of War Ragnarök. However, an industry insider gives the all-clear.

God of War Ragnarok: Release still in 2022

The current year is full of breathtaking AAA games like Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring and Gran Turismo 7. God of War Ragnarök, the sequel to the hit game God of War (2018), is also scheduled for release this year, yes Fans are afraid of another postponement.

The game was originally supposed to be released in 2021. However, the release had to be postponed because Kratos spokesman Christopher Judge dropped out. The reason was several serious operations, from which the actor had to recover first. (Source: Twitter)

Reddit user MTH1138 inquired about the opinions of other fans on the portal. “Anybody think GoW Ragnarök might not come out until 2023?” was his question. Interestingly, the first person to respond wasn’t just anyone, but industry insider Jason Schreier. He replied with a short “Nope” and thus took the wind out of the sails of the rumor in a nutshell.

What do we know about God of War Ragnarok?

The God of War sequel is a work of Santa Monica Studio and is scheduled for release in 2022 coming out for the PS4 and PS5. A later release for the PC is not excluded. Incidentally, there will be an option to upgrade from a digital or disc version of the PS4 game to the digital version for PS5 for an additional fee. (Source: God of War website)

Kratos and Atreus have to go deep into nine worlds this time. On their journey they gather allies from all worlds and have to face opponents like Norse gods and monsters. This will probably also be their last trip, because as game director Cory Barlog announced last year, Ragnarök will complete the adventure in the world of Norse mythology. Reasons for this would be both the development time and the plot of the games.

It is not yet known when exactly the upcoming action-adventure game will actually appear. However, 2022 is very realistic. We’ll keep you up to date.
