It’s done ! The 80th Golden Globes ceremony, which took place on January 10, announced all the 2023 winners.
The awards season has therefore entered its final stretch, the one that will take us to the Oscars on March 12. But before that, the Golden Globes were handed out by the Hollywood-based Foreign Press Association.
On the cinema side, Steven Spielberg triumphed with The Fabelmans, his most personal film. The maestro’s new work was voted best dramatic film. It will be released in French theaters on February 22. As for the filmmaker, he won the award for best director.
“No one really knows who we are until we’re brave enough to tell everyone”said Spielberg, adding that he had never had the courage to face this story head-on until now.
The other featured feature is The Banshees of Inisherin, directed by Martin McDonagh. He leaves with the statuettes for best comedy, best actor in a comedy for Colin Farrell and best screenplay for Martin McDonagh. The work is currently showing in cinemas in France.
For his crazy performance in Elvis, Austin Butler won the statuette for best actor in a drama. Cate Blanchett wins the award for best actress in a drama for her performance in Tar.
Everything Everywhere All At Once leaves with two prestigious awards, best actress in a comedy for Michelle Yeoh and best actor in a supporting role for Ke Huy Quan. As for Angela Bassett, she won the award for best actress in a supporting role for her performance as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther 2.
