A few years ago, a remaster of GoldenEye 007 was in the works for Xbox 360, before being discontinued. For some time now, we have also been hearing rumors about a new remaster / remake for the cult FPS, which would once again be planned for Xbox consoles, but nothing real has been able to verify if all this holds up. more rumor or not. Today, Eurogamer and Jeff Grubb agree that this remake does exist, but is currently stuck following the war in Ukraine.

It was the VentureBeat reporter who first talked about the project again, saying on Twitter that the game does exist, but was put aside following the start of the war in Ukraine. It’s sort of the same situation asAdvance Warsexcept that here, no information has really been relayed publicly about the game.
Eurogamer subsequently confirmed this, while stating that it had contacted Microsoft for more information (a request that has not yet been answered).
We therefore imagine that the manufacturer wishes to avoid releasing the spy game in this complicated period, just as he does not want to admit his existence. It remains to be seen what the project will become in the coming months.
