Apart from the absence of a hands-free kit and the impossibility of returning to the start of the track, JBL is flawless in terms of the ergonomics of the Charge 4 which confirms its excellent autonomy, its robustness, its fluidity of use – and thanks to this generation renewal, gains a USB-C port as well as a multipoint Bluetooth connection. On the other hand, we are surprised to find the sound defects that we reproached its predecessor … and to lose a speaker in the process. The result is nevertheless rich, overall balanced and very powerful, aimed at lovers of bass and vocal presence.

However, it lacks a bit of transparency and sound “cleanliness” to go and tease the references in its category. We recommend putting it in competition with the excellent SRS-XB33 from Sony, which outclasses it on several criteria.
