Good deal – The “4-star” Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphone at €679.99 (-16%)

After the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, it’s the turn of the Samsung Galaxy S21, a 6.2-inch model, to venture under our measuring devices.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 is an excellent smartphone, which simply sins by its too limited autonomy. For the rest, the qualities of the mobile are undeniable: its panel is excellent, even exceptional, the performance is top-notch, the daytime photos are good, and it incorporates almost all of the brand’s know-how. The fact remains that this phone has, as always, good rivals in front of it, such as the Xiaomi Mi 10, better armed in terms of autonomy, or the Google Pixel 5, terribly effective in photography, although less versatile.

Strong points

  • A superb screen, perfectly calibrated.
  • Very nice design and finishes.
  • Very good performance of the Exynos 2100.
  • Waterproof to 1.5m depth for 30 minutes.

Weak points

  • Autonomy too fair.
  • The lack of a charging block.
  • Night photos still limited.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

Like its predecessor, the Google Pixel 7 is an excellent smartphone. It benefits from a beautiful screen, a powerful SoC and a very good photo sensor duo. In addition, its price positioning makes it more affordable than the vast majority of its high-end competitors, without making any real concessions. We can certainly blame him for his heating in game, his always slow recharging or his too great similarity with the Pixel 6, but these defects weigh little with regard to the general experience, even more intuitive under Android 13.
