Good deal – The Asus ZenBook 15 Oled 2023 16 GB / 1 TB “4-star” laptop at €1,199.99 (-17%)

The ZenBook 15 Oled is the new large format ultrabook from Asus. Still decked out with its Oled panel, it has a Ryzen AMD processor and sports the new Plasma Ceramic finish on its cover.

The Asus Zenbook 15 Oled offers first-rate performance for an ultrabook, in particular thanks to the valiant Ryzen 7 from AMD which allows it some video game escapades and the Oled panel. The absence of anti-reflective treatment on the panel is also a point to consider if you plan to use it outdoors. However, a few small details tarnish this seemingly idyllic picture, particularly decent battery life, but a little tight for an ultrabook. Right-handers, for their part, will rail against the grouping of the connections on the right side of the ZenBook. For the rest, it is a large format ultrabook to consider, especially if you find it at a lower price than its direct competitors.

Strong points

  • Ryzen 7 performance.
  • Well calibrated Oled panel.
  • Light play possible.

Weak points

  • Screen subject to reflections.
  • Poorly distributed connectivity.
  • SSD not very durable.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

The transition to the Apple M1 processor in the MacBook Air is a real success. Apple’s ultraportable no longer suffers at all from comparison with the MacBook Pro, to the point of overshadowing it. The MacBook Air M1 is lighter and operates in cathedral silence. Of course, it lacks the Touch Bar, but it is far from being a decisive criterion. The MacBook Air M1 is Apple’s best ultraportable and certainly one of the best ultraportables on the market.
