Good deal – The Honor Magic 5 Pro Green smartphone “5 stars” at €999.00 (-15%)

After a Magic 4 Pro illustrating its ambitions on the high-end smartphone market, Honor intends to transform the test using a Magic 5 Pro operating, on paper, with very few concessions. What the facts confirm…

Honor has clear ambitions in the European market, and this Magic 5 Pro gives it the means to enter the premium smartphone segment. The device has a bright and well-calibrated screen, its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is efficient, its autonomy is comfortable and its photo component, successful especially at wide-angle, also offers great versatility. In short, for those who are not frightened by its imposing format, the smartphone operates very few concessions and maintains its rank as a premium smartphone.

Strong points

  • Bright and well-calibrated screen.
  • Powerful model.
  • Photo versatility.
  • Good autonomy.

Weak points

  • Smartphone a bit heavy.
  • Ultra wide-angle set back from other photo modules.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

Samsung’s previous Galaxy Ultra had convinced us, but not fully. It is quite different for the 2023 vintage which finally reaches the top of the range perfectly complete and pleasant in all situations. We can obviously blame this Galaxy 23 Ultra for a photo part that is oddly quite set back on certain points, but nothing that cannot be corrected by a subsequent update. As it stands, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can once again claim its place as the king of premium.
